Description | Gabriela Baldwin has experience in the areas of art and writing. Gabi began in eighth grade as a member of Sketch Club. Gabi’s artistic style has been recognized the last four years by the request of art commissions from members on Sketch Club. Gabi won a Draw to Adopt Character on Sketch Club. She not only submitted changes to the character, but she also created a story detailing the changes to the character, all based on science. As a complete red-green colorblind artist, Gabi has worked in the mediums of digital art, watercolor art, and has studied privately with a general art teacher for the last two years of high school as a homeschooled student; the goal was to overcome the color vision deficiency challenge, which was discovered the second year of high school, as well as to explore and experience various forms of art. Gabi’s private homeschool art class paid off when she won the Honorable Mention Award in a judged show at the Beyond Sight October 2022 Art Reception for a collaborative work with Michele Stone on Picasso Guitar Study. Additionally as a homeschool student, Gabi has been developing her literary skills since eighth grade by writing stories through the use of the gift of her imagination, in which she sees characters and stories develop, and feels compelled to put the pen to paper. Gabi has had a private creative writing teacher for the last two years of high school; since then, Gabi has been working on her first novel, and has written 40+ different stories, but has not yet submitted her work for publication. Gabi also received recognition on Flight Rising for the writing commission done for an event in December, 2022. Gabi’s literary interests and work are focused on science fiction, mystery, horror, and action / adventure. Gabi is a member of the class of 2027 with a major in animation at The University of Tampa. |
