I have also served as the managing editor and editor-in-chief of regional publications, earning two California Journalism Awards from the California News Publishers Association.

I earned a Poynter ACES Certificate in Editing and a bachelor's degree in journalism from Michigan State University. I frequently take new professional courses to stay current on best editing and writing practices.
