As a freelance writer and editor in the Chicagoland area, I specialize in academic and scientific editing, copyediting and writing for trade publications, and creative writing. I am proficient in AP, AMA, and Chicago styles.

With over 9 years of experience editing academic research papers, I excel at reworking unpolished manuscripts into publishable material. My work as a managing editor and department lead has ensured the timely publication of research in the fields of prosthodontics, restorative dentistry, and oral and facial pain, among others. My primary responsibility as an editor is to ensure that research scheduled for publication is clean, clear, and concise, which involves correcting spelling and grammatical errors, checking the consistency of tables and figures, and editing content in accordance with the appropriate style guide. Skills I have learned and developed over my career include content editing and proofreading, long-term project planning, and managing production schedules, workflow, and staff. Assisting authors with submission and peer review has also given me additional experience recognizing and implementing quality standards in academic and scientific publishing.

In addition to academic editing, I also perform editorial and writing services for <em>Hobby Merchandiser</em> and <em>The Northern Logger</em> magazines.
