Description

“Editing is the very edge of your knowledge forced to grow—a test you can’t cheat on.”

~S. Kelley Harrell

Weaving stories through a unique combination of words, clauses, and sentences? It’s been a part of me for as long as I can remember. But it’s not just been about moving characters, plots, and worlds from my head to the page. It’s about revising them into something that will intrigue and addict readers.

My mother instilled in me a passion for reading when I was only four. She read to me from the time I was a toddler until I was old enough to read on my own. Dr. Seuss, Reading Rainbow, Sesame Street, these are the cultural icons that stoked my love of storytelling throughout my adolescence.

Through this life-long exploration of the world of literature, and with the help of the University of Washington-Seattle, I began to realize that the behind-the-scenes process of creative writing is what most appeals to me.

As a fiction story coach, developmental editor, and manuscript evaluator, I help independent and self-publishing queer romance authors:

Improve overall structure, plot, and character development.
Flesh out suspense, tension, and conflict to avoid the melodramatic.
Pick the best point of view and character voice to make their story leap off the page.

Let me put my skills and experience to use for YOUR story and collaborate with you so we can reflect on your story one word at a time!
